Fusilli in meat sauce. Almost like a bolognese sauce minus the carrots and celery. Almost.
This is my family’s own take on a meat sauce. It has all the right flavours and is a favorite among many who’ve tasted it 😌
I usually love this with tagiatelle but fusilli is all I had in my pantry. If you guys try this, use whatever pasta you like!
So for the meat sauce, We usually use lamb mince but a 50/50 mix of lamb and beef or just beef mince will still be just as good. I’ll list the ingredients below and for the process please refer to my quick short video 😊
Ingredients for the meat sauce are as s:
– Mince meat
– Onion – chopped finely
– Garlic – chopped finely
– Turmeric powder (optional)
– Chilli flakes
– Dried herbs (Basil, Oregano, Thyme and Rosemary)
– Tomato paste
– Tomato – Crushed or chopped
– Tomato puree (passata)
– Stock (Chicken, Beef or Vegetable)
– Olive Oil
– Parmesan (grated)
– Worcestershire sauce
– Pasta water/Water
Making it is pretty simple, just remember to simmer it for a while after adding stock and water so that the meat cooks well and is tender.
